Remember This? The Amusement Park on Saratoga Lake!

Did you ever get to experience it?

If you grew up in the Capital Region say, before 1987, there's a good chance you made some summertime childhood memories at the old Kaydeross Park on Saratoga Lake. Much like the old Hoffman's Playland (now Huck Finn's playland), it offered a wide variety of rides, entertainment, games and family fun activities.

But, there were many features that made Kaydeross Park special. First, it was located on the shores of Saratoga Lake. In fact, it had its own beach and a slide you could swim out to. For rides, it featured the Tilt-A-Whirl,, Ferris wheel, and a classic carousel/merry-go-round that came from Coney Island.

Kaydeross was a popular place for family and group outings. It was close to just about everything in the Capital Region. Prices were reasonable, and you could enjoy a day swimming in the lake or pool, playing arcade games, mini-golf, basketball, or jumping on and off some of the (at the time) thrill rides.

The park operated on the north end of the lake from 1900 to 1987, when the land was sold to build (wait for it)... condos and townhouses.

Here's a look back at the park with shots from a promo video. Forgive the quality, it was 1985 technology.
