Janie Fricke - 18 #1's & One Of Country Music's Leading '80s Ladies'

Janie Fricke is one of those legendary voices that should be in the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum!  Janie has been a part of Country Music for decades, starting as one of the most in-demand back-up vocalists in music.  The Indiana native was one of Country Music's leading '80s Ladies', winning the CMA's Female Vocalist of the Year Award in 1982 and 1983. In addition, her voice dominated Country Radio in the 80s with several songs in heavy rotation- like 'Let's Stop Talkin' About It' 'If The Fall Don't Get You' 'Do Me With Love' 'Tell Me A Lie' 'Easy To Please' and many more. Furthermore, her voice was always a presence, even when fans may not have known it, singing along with Johnny Duncan on hits like 'Stranger' 'Come A Little Bit Closer' and 'It Couldn't Have Been Any Better', Moe Bandy's smash 'It's A Cheatin' Situation', Merle Haggard's classics 'Natural High' and 'A Place To Fall Apart', and even providing background vocals for Elvis Presley's final album.  Moreover, her voice powered Number One Hits for Ronnie Milsap, 'It Was Almost Like A Song' and 'What A Difference You've Made In My Life', Barbara Mandrell's 'Sleeping Single In A Double Bed' and even England Dan and John Ford Coley's pop hit 'I'd Really Love To See You Tonight'.

One of the most respected and loved talents in Country Music, Fricke was a staple of Major Television Award Shows, Country Music Specials and even an appearance on The Dukes Of Hazzard. Residing in Texas, the former jingle singer (Red Lobster, McDonald's, Coca Cola), continues to record and tour today to appreciative fans who enjoy 'Classy' Classic Country Music.  Janie will make a rare Northeast appearance in our 'Close Up' Show at the Charles R. Wood Theater in Glens Falls, NY on Sunday Afternoon, March 16, 2025 (click here).
