Here's what's next for the space being vacated

In an emotional post on Facebook, the owners of Nonna Maria's Italian Kitchen in Halfmoon, announced they are retiring.

About 10 years ago we stumbled upon this little place in a strip mall in Halfmoon, we figured we would take a chance. We didn’t know that the chance would turn into endless amounts of customers who became like family, support from all over the district, delicious food five nights a week, and ten years of business.

Nonna Maria's is located in the Glennpeter Jewelers Plaza on Route 9 and they didn't have to look far for a buyer. Their next door neighbor in the strip mall, Mi Mexico Lindo, a restaurant and grocery store, will be expanding into the space where Nonna's was.

We are proud and honored to end our Nonna Maria’s chapter by passing our space off to our next door neighbors. Just like we took a chance as a family on this little strip mall, they are doing the same. We congratulate The Martinez family of Mi Mexico Lindo as they embark on this journey of expanding their business.

Nonna's is officially closed. News 10 reached out to the owners of Mi Mexico Lindo for information on when they plan on moving into the space, but have not heard back as of yet.
