Were you part of music history?

It was 1994, 25 years had gone by since the original Woodstock in 1969. Organizers wanted to create the magic of those three iconic days. Woodstock '94 took place August 12-14 at Winston Farm in Saugerties.

The lineup covered almost the entire spectrum of music, blending folk, rock, heavy metal and hip hop.

Bands for the time included Blues Traveler, Sheryl Crow, The Red Hot Chili Peppers and Green Day. Iconic groups like Aerosmith and the Allman Brothers were part of the festivities. Other artists included Peter Gabriel, Collective Soul and Melissa Etheridge.

Originals from Woodstock in 1969 were also there, Crosby Stills & Nash, Santana and The Band.

Probably what makes it most memorable was not the music, but the mud. Friday started off dry, but storms moved in on Saturday and Sunday saturating the ground. It didn't stop the party as festival goers took right to the mud as if jumping in their backyard pool.

About 350,000 people are estimated to have been part of the festival, though less than 200,000 tickets were sold.

Here's a look back at that legendary weekend.
